On Saturday, August 18, the NorthWood Girls Cross Country team successfully defended the title at the Elkhart Christian Hokum Karem held at First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Leading the charge in this unique two person relay was Megan Miller and Whitney Wolfe who placed second as a pair. Hannah Brubaker and Jennifer Martinez were third while Reese Barhydt and Laura Schrock finished sixth to round out the scoring for NorthWood. Freshmen Emilie Allen and Morgan Jenkins had a fine day finishing 11th in the varsity race.
Senior Riley Hershberger and freshman Kaitlin Burden won the JV race. Amanda Jenkins and Abigail Vorhis were third, Molly Smith and McKynze Miller were fifth, Jenna Markham and Andrea Williams eighth, and Erika Martinez and Araceli Martinez were tenth.
The Black Pack Attack will travel to Warsaw on Tuesday, August 21 for the Warsaw Invitational.
