NorthWood Panthers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-0 loss to Plymouth on Monday. Plymouth took the lead on an error in the second inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Plymouth pitchers struck out five, while NorthWood Panthers sat down seven. However, Plymouth stifled the Panthers bats only allowing one hit.
Cam Dennie got the win for Plymouth. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Cole Filson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Filson recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Plymouth.
Alec Holcomb took the loss for NorthWood. He lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out six and walking one.
Mast went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the Panthers.
Plymouth had eight hits in the game. Dennie and Jesus Luua all managed multiple hits for Plymouth. Plymouth was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Meanwhile, NorthWood comitted three.
