NorthWood Panthers Varsity took Wednesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Mishawaka. NorthWood Panthers Varsity was down 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning when a wild pitch allowed a run across the plate for NorthWood Panthers. Then Alec Holcomb took care of the rest while singling on a 2-2 count after being behind in the count 0-2.
Early in the contest, NorthWood put up six runs in the second inning. Cooper Davis, Miller, Sawyer Warren, Matt Dutkowski, and Hunter Warren (3 hits for the day) powered the big inning with RBIs.
Dutkowski started the game for NorthWood Panthers Varsity. He allowed two hits and one run (unearned) over five innings, striking out six. Sophomore Cooper Davis was the winning pitcher for NorthWood Panthers. He lasted two-thirds of an inning after coming into relieve Sawyer Warren in the top of the 7th.
