Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between NorthWood and Elkhart Memorial where the Panthers prevailed 15-11.

NorthWood Panthers got on the board in the first inning. Matt Dutkowski drove in one when he doubled.

NorthWood scored four runs in the second inning. NorthWood Panther batters contributing to the big inning included Payton Bear, Hunter Warren, Kyler Hauptli, and Cooper Davis, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Elkhart Memorial scored five runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Elkhart Memorial was brought on by defensive miscues by the Panthers.

Jason Cripe led the NorthWood Panthers to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He allowed four hits and five runs over five innings, striking out five. Davis had started the game for NorthWood. He allowed five hits and six runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out one.

NorthWood Panthers Varsity racked up 15 hits on the day. Brock Miller, Hunter Warren, Brant Mast, and Dutkowski each managed multiple hits for NorthWood Panthers Varsity.
