Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between NorthWood Panthers JV and Goshen where NorthWood Panthers JV prevailed 7-6.

NorthWood Panthers JV got things started in the first inning when an error scored a run for NorthWood Panthers JV.

In the top of the fifth inning, Goshen tied things up at six. Fisher was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

After Goshen scored one run in the top of the fourth, NorthWood Panthers JV answered with one of their own. Goshen scored when Turner hit a solo homer. NorthWood Panthers JV then answered when an error scored one run for NorthWood Panthers JV.

NorthWood Panthers JV scored three runs in the third inning. Nick Lechlitner, Nate Newcomer, and Josh Stratford each had RBIs in the big inning.

Newcomer earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for NorthWood Panthers JV. He surrendered one run on one hit over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Nine took the loss for Goshen. He lasted one-third of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking one.

Beau Stankovich started the game for NorthWood Panthers JV. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four. Reyes started the game for Goshen. He went seven innings, allowing six runs on two hits and striking out 15.

Jack Wysong and Stratford each collected one hit to lead NorthWood Panthers JV. NorthWood Panthers JV was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Trevor Klotz made the most plays with 12.

Cartagena went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Goshen in hits.
