Josh Stratford didn’t feel much like getting out on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading NorthWood Panthers JV to a 14-9 win over Concord. Stratford singled in the second, homered in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
NorthWood Panthers JV collected 14 hits and Concord had 14 in the high-scoring affair.
NorthWood Panthers JV fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jack Wysong doubled off the top of the fence on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
NorthWood Panthers JV tallied six runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to by Blaine Newcomer and Logan Balasa, a single by Wysong, by Kaden Mikel, and a double by Nate Newcomer.
Concord scored four runs in the seventh inning. Witmer and Sunday each drove in runs during the inning.
Landon Kemp was the winning pitcher for NorthWood Panthers JV. He surrendered two runs on six hits over four innings, striking out six. Stratford threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Smith took the loss for Concord. He surrendered seven runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.
NorthWood Panthers JV racked up 14 hits. Stratford, Wysong, Jacob Raasch, Balasa, and Beau Stankovich each had multiple hits for NorthWood Panthers JV. Stratford led NorthWood Panthers JV with four hits in four at bats.
Concord totaled 14 hits in the game. Witmer and Schrock managed multiple hits for Concord. Witmer went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Concord in hits.
