The NorthWood High School Panthers baseball team has collaborated with Major League Baseball pitcher, Jason Motte and the Jason Motte Foundation to Strike Out Cancer. With the help and support of Elkhart Memorial, tonight is our “Let’s Strike Out Cancer” Game. As a fan participant at the game, we are asking for your help and support as we join Jason Motte as his Teammates in the Fight against cancer.
The seed for the Jason Motte Foundation was planted in the fall of 2010 when Jason Motte and his wife, Caitlin, asked, “what can we do to help?” At the time, Caitlin’s grandfather was a cancer patient in Memphis, Tennessee. As they sat with him during his treatments, they saw a sign that mentioned a need for blankets and wanted to do something to help. That simple question led to the formation of their Strike Out Cancer Foundation. In 2013, Jason enlisted the help from players on all 30 MLB teams to join in the fight with his KCancer t-shirt, which benefits cancer charities throughout the United States. The mission of the Jason Motte Foundation is to provide comfort and care where there is a need for those affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancers of all kinds.
Come out tonight and join the fight and enjoy a great NLC matchup!
