Panthers News · 2018 Boys Basketball Sectional Champions!

One of the most enjoyable experiences you can have as a coach of any sport is realizing when a team “gels”!  Over the last several weeks it was evident that was happening for our boys basketball team.  From top to bottom, from head coach to all of our support staff you just got the feeling the Panthers were on a roll heading into the Sectional………..and roll we did!!  Over the three games of the Sectional our team did not allow any of our opponents to score over 40 points in any game!!!  The combination of a great inside and outside game at the offensive end it made for a memorable week in the PIT.  This group of young men and coaches have put in countless hours of preparation and their efforts were rewarded last night with a convincing victory over Lakeland.  We were honored to have our care-taker of NW Athletes, Paul Widner have the opportunity to present the championship trophy to our team last night which began the celebration of cutting down the nets.

Today we celebrate by looking at all the pictures and social media posts of memories that were the sights and sounds of our last night in the PIT for 2018!  We make a lot of references to the PIT in many of our stories and their is reason.  Doing some research yesterday and with last nights victory our home record over the last 12 years in the PIT is 112-25 for our boys program and 107-30 for our girls program for a total of 209-55!!  What makes it different???  All basketball courts have the same dimensions……….what makes it special are the people that fill our stands and the student/athletes that take pride in playing on our home floor, from volleyball to basketball the PIT is special because of the people!

The picture below is of many of the kids that make it to almost all of our home games.  Pretty cool when they can be a part of a championship as well.  The second picture is our boys basketball coaching staff (minus Coach Shields who was home sick with the flu).  Could not be more proud of a group of men that work towards a common goal year in and year out.  Thanks for making this week special for our student/athletes! Lets get some rest and enjoy this beautiful Sunday!!

GO PANTHERS!
